CARA BROOKINS’ SOLUTION:

  • 60-minute keynote presentation

  • 30-minute audience Q&A

  • AV check and full rehearsal

  • Coordinated by Macmillan Speakers Bureau

As part of UALR’s Speaker Series on Violence Against Women, Cara Brookins was invited to address one of society’s most difficult subjects with authenticity, vulnerability, and actionable insight. The goal: help students and community members explore the root causes of abuse and build a deeper understanding of how to support survivors and become effective advocates for change.

Cara’s keynote blended her personal experience as a survivor with her path to rebuilding, both physically and emotionally. Her story offered a powerful reminder that recovery is possible, and that every individual has the capacity to reclaim control of their life. A lively Q&A followed, allowing students and community members to ask meaningful questions and engage directly in the conversation.

The event was coordinated in partnership with Macmillan Speakers Bureau, and included a full AV check and rehearsal to ensure seamless delivery.

“Cara did a great job! She really connected with the audience and everyone enjoyed the program.”
—Jenny Dodson, Director, University of Arkansas at Little Rock Student Experience Center
