Alliance of Women in Workers’ Compensation

Alliance of Women in Workers’ Compensation is a nonprofit dedicated to mentorship and leadership development in the insurance and workers’ compensation industry.

AUDIENCE: 500 attendees, primarily women from the insurance and risk management sector

LOCATION: Orlando, Florida

CHALLENGE: To create meaningful opportunities for mentorship, education, and leadership development while addressing industry-wide issues like regulatory changes and evolving workforce needs.

CARA BROOKINS’ SOLUTION:

  • Keynote: “Rise & Resilience – The True Story”

  • Included audience Q&A and a post-event book signing

  • Coordinated through Keppler Speakers Bureau

During a landmark event in Orlando, the Alliance of Women in Workers’ Compensation gathered 500 professionals to engage in mentorship, leadership development, and shared learning. They needed a keynote speaker who could bring not only credibility, but vulnerability, a voice that could bridge emotional storytelling with business insight.

Cara Brookins delivered “Rise & Resilience – The True Story” with exactly that combination. Her journey of building her own home while healing from domestic violence connected instantly with the audience. But beyond the emotion, she outlined clear takeaways on how to apply resilience, resourcefulness, and adaptability in high-pressure environments like insurance and risk management.

After her keynote, Cara stayed for a book signing and meet-and-greet, allowing attendees to go deeper and connect personally. The session was one of the highest-rated parts of the program, with lasting buzz throughout the rest of the event.

“Cara was an amazing speaker. We have received raving reviews. She touched the hearts of many and delivered powerful leadership messages.”
