In Des Moines, Iowa, a movement to save babies’ lives gathered momentum as Count the Kicks hosted an annual advocacy event bringing together 1,100+ women united by a common cause. As a maternal health initiative focused on preventing stillbirth through fetal movement awareness, the event needed a keynote speaker who could inspire change and mobilize support.
“Working with Cara was so special… a very genuine, intelligent and inspirational woman. We were blessed to have her for our event!”
— Jen Rowray, Healthy Birth Day, Inc.
Cara Brookins delivered “Build a Bigger Future,” a powerful keynote that merged her personal journey with the mission of Count the Kicks. She spoke about listening to your instincts, trusting your inner voice, and boldly choosing growth, even when the road ahead is unfamiliar.
The event was sponsored by Mercy Hospital and supported by a grassroots team, including five mothers who had experienced loss firsthand. Cara's warmth and presence extended beyond the stage as she spent several hours in the convention foyer meeting guests, signing books, and encouraging attendees to take their next step in advocacy.
Her message not only amplified the importance of Count the Kicks' mission but left every guest feeling empowered to protect life, one kick at a time.
“Cara Brookins was amazing, great choice!”
