A
Harvest of Friends is so much fun! Many children enter the story as
the isolation of summer ends. Everyone is happy to be back at school in the fall because the farm harvest has kept them so busy.
A
new family, the Walkers, have moved to Tomah. Many of the town's people
are reacting unkindly toward them. They are from the large city of
Chicago and are very different than the people of Tomah, or at least everyone
seems to think so.
In
the midst of a crisis, Doris opens her heart to the family and the entire town
learns a valuable lesson about caring and prejudice.
