Doris and her Ma
This Photograph of Doris' Ma, Augusta Adelia, always makes me smile. She looks so proud of her car. Notice that she is wearing an apron over her dress. This made the dress last longer and kept it clean. The apron was also used to wipe away children's tears and to carry things in. She would pull her apron up and fill it with vegetables from the garden or clothes pins to hang laundry, or eggs from the chicken coup.
