Doris' Dad on the Farm
This is such a relaxing picture. We've caught Doris' Dad in a rare moment of leisure on the farm. I wonder what book he was reading out in the grass? You can see the barn in the background. It doesn't look like they were able to paint it. Paint was expensive and it wasn't as long lasting as our paint today is.
I remember Grandma telling me that her Mom would repaint the trim inside their house every year because it faded so quickly. It was a deep blue color. I wonder if that was the color Augusta liked best? Doris liked lavender and blue, she always joked with me that her favorite color was sky-blue-pink!
